Techy Thurs: Scrapping and Color, FREEBIE QP too!

Happy Thursday!!

I don't know about you but I have so much going on in a day, I don't have time to really contemplate color schemes. I usually download what ever kit is close and adjust them accordingly.

Well now I have three cool tools. For the digi scrapper who wants help picking colors for that great picture, and for the designer who needs to come up with the perfect pallete for the new kit that needs to get done!

For the scrappers out there who look at pic and just can't choose the right scheme to go with it, here is a great tool to help!

You upload your picture and it gives you a choice of many colors. As you can see I picked the blue. I chose the "split comp" color wheel on the right. It gave me the four colors to work with. I think they go really well with my son's shirt so I would use those for that pic.

What if you have two pics you want to scrap with?! No problem. Upload both. You can choose what is the best match for both pics!

The colors I chose for these pics go with both pics and are neutral colors. I can tweek it a little so that it will all match!

Want a little more freedom?! I have the site for you

You pic the color (the blackish dot) and select which color combo you would like. For this one I wanted something BOLD! I picked the "Triad"

If you want to make them lighter, darker, more saturated click on the "Adjust Scheme" tab at the bottom of the page.

next Click the "Scheme info" tab and click the HTML+CSS to get the Generated image below.

The coolest thing about this generator is it gives you the color codes for PSE and PS CS. You just type in the code on the color picker and VOILA, the color you want!!

Now if you want someone else to do the thinking for you (which I do half the time, we have enough to figure out in a day right?! Just figuring out what to make for dinner seems like rocket science some days!!)

This is a fabulous site! I love the color schemes. This one is Celtic. I am Irish (Irish American) and I love everything Celtic, so I chose this as my example :). These are beautiful colors that remind me of a stormy day on the beach. I could make a kit around that.

I hope that this has been helpful and you are feeling a little more inspired to experiment with color. It's only scary when you don't know what to do with it right?
